Google BigQuery for Open Data and the Open Source Community -Kazunori Sato, Cloud Platform GBU Team, Google Inc.

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Google BigQuery might be the best place to store open data. Where else can people store arbitrarily large datasets, and have them available for instant analysis by others? Realizing its potential and applications, the big data and open source community has been embracing this cloud tool and extending it.

In this session we'll discuss some of the massively large available datasets (whole history of github, httparchive, Freebase, ...), running analytical queries over them in seconds, and how the open source community is embracing the project (data science with pandas and R, log collection with fluentd, ...)
